Our class recently embarked on an exciting journey to explore different mythologies and traditions from around the world. The students were divided into groups, each assigned one of the following topics: Greek Mythology, Norse Mythology, Indian Traditions, Chinese Mythology, Aztec and Inca Myths, and Celtic Traditions.
Each student was tasked with researching their mythology and preparing a poster on an A4 sheet to present their findings. The posters covered four key aspects:
- What the myth explains
- How the myth influences festivals today
- Key figures or deities
- The oral storytelling tradition
Students gathered fascinating insights about gods, heroes, and mythical creatures and how these stories continue to shape modern traditions and festivals.
The activity was a fun and engaging way to connect history, culture, and storytelling. It allowed students to develop research skills, creativity, and teamwork while deepening their understanding of different cultural perspectives. The final presentations were impressive, with well-structured explanations, and enthusiastic storytelling. This project not only enhanced their knowledge but also sparked curiosity about the rich tapestry of myths that shape human history.
