Students selected a city from India or around the world and researched how its nearby river contributed to its growth and development. They explored the role of rivers in providing water, supporting agriculture, enabling trade and transport, encouraging industries, and attracting settlements. Two students also chose Dubai and explained how it flourished despite not having a major river, highlighting the importance of its strategic coastal location, trade, tourism, infrastructure, and innovation. The activity enhanced students' research, analytical, and presentation skills while helping them understand the factors that influence the growth of cities
