Month Activity - Shark Tank - SDG 13

Students of Class V created their own companies using renewable resources. The objective was that students will design and pitch a company that focuses on using renewable resources to solve an environmental problem or meet a societal need. They will present their ideas to a judgel in a "Shark Tank"-style format.

The students in a team created an idea for a company focused on utilizing renewable resources such as solar, wind, water, geothermal energy, or sustainable materials like bamboo, algae, etc.

They researched different renewable resources and how they can be used to create sustainable products or services. They took current environmental issues that their company could address using these resources (e.g., reducing plastic waste, conserving energy, clean water access).

After that they came up with a unique name like Pakka Bamboo, Innovative Depolluters, Original Appliances and BioBricks and expressed which renewable resource will they use, and how will their company use it to solve an issue? They explained what makes their product/service unique.

They presented the problem that they were addressing and explained how their company and product/service solve the problem using renewable resources.

The Criteria for Evaluation was

Innovation and creativity

Use of renewable resources

Environmental and societal impact

Presentation skills

This activity encourages teamwork, creativity, research skills, and public speaking, all while promoting sustainability!
