To help students connect with nature and become more aware of their surroundings, a Five Senses Nature Walk was organized within the school premises. The objective was to engage students in mindful observation by using all five senses — sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste (where appropriate).
During the walk, students observed the colors and shapes of leaves and flowers (sight), listened to birds chirping and leaves rustling, children playing (hearing), smelled fragrant flowers and fresh grass (smell), touched the soft petals (touch). They recorded their experiences in their diary and discussed their findings after the walk.
The activity encouraged curiosity, sharpened observational skills, and nurtured a sense of appreciation for nature. It was a refreshing and educational experience that students enjoyed thoroughly.
